Guide Review - Alice In Corporate Wonderland

Author and graduate of North Texas University, R.T. Talasek, spent more than 25 years in the corporate world holding a variety of positions. His experience shows in his new book Alice in Corporate Wonderland.

The book is a magical blend of fiction and creative non-fiction. Talasek borrows from Caroll’s original cast of characters, and reintroduces Alice as a grown-up, Ivy League MBA. Alice takes a corporate job at Wonderland Inc and meets an entertaining and outlandish cast of characters that include “the queen”, “Chesire”, and a harried assistant who resembles a rabbit.

Before long, Alice realizes that the real world is nothing like what she learned about in school. Wonderland Inc is full of disgruntled employees, crazy management, and wasted resources. Through Alice, we become privy to some of the most common problems facing corporations today. We also learn of real, workable solutions to these problems.

Overall, Alice in Corporate Wonderland is a smart and entertaining tale. I highly recommend this book to anyone who works or is thinking of working in the business world.
