Types of MBA Programs
There are several different types of MBA programs. Not every business school offers every type, but most schools do offer at least one of more of the following:
- Two-Year MBA Programs - Also known as full-time or traditional MBA programs, two-year MBA programs take approximately two years to complete. They are designed for students who are able to devote themselves to full-time study.
- One-Year MBA Programs - One-year MBA programs, or accelerated programs as they are sometimes known, are rigorous programs that can be completed in as little as 12 months. These programs are also designed for students who are able to devote themselves to full-time study.
- Part-Time MBA Programs - Part-time MBA programs are designed for working professionals and other students who are unable to attend class full-time. Courses often take place in the evening and on the weekend to accommodate working professionals. Part-time MBA programs commonly take three to four years to complete.
- Executive MBA Programs - Executive MBA programs are very similar to the other MBA programs mentioned above, but are specifically designed for working executives, managers, entrepreneurs, and other business leaders who have at least six years of work experience. Courses are typically explored from a management perspective and are often scheduled at night and on the weekends to accommodate working professionals.
Online MBA Programs
Many of the MBA programs mentioned above can be taken on-campus or online. Online MBA programs are often very similar to their campus-based counterparts. The only difference is that course schedules are usually more flexible, allowing students to attend class when it is convenient for them. You can read more about online programs below:
